CASA Superhero Run - Race Logistics
CASA Superhero Run - Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes!

Race Times: Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m.  The Kids’ Run will start at 9:00 a.m. The timed 5K Race will follow at 9:30 a.m (clock stops at 10:15 a.m.).
 
Race Fees:
 
Registration: Children under five do not need to be registered to ride in a stroller. Online registration will be open through 5 p.m. on April 23th. You can register in person during packet pick-up or on race day up until 9:00a.m.  If you have any issues with online registration or would prefer to register by phone, please contact Barbara Herzog at 804-501-1671.
 
The Course: The race will start and end on the historic campus of St. Joseph’s Villa. This is a flat and fast course with our previous top finisher clocking 14:55.  
 
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded in age groups based on race results in the 5K and places in the Kids' Run. Prizes also will be awarded to those wearing the most heroic costumes.  
 
Packet Pick-up: To save time on race day, you can pick up your packet on Friday, April 24, 2015 from noon-1 p.m. or 5-6 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Villa. Interested runners can also preregister or preview the course at that time. If you can't make it Friday, please pick up your packet by 8:30am on Saturday.
 
Parking: Parking will be available on the grounds of St. Joseph’s Villa. PLEASE USE THE ENTRANCE AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT ON BROOK ROAD.  You will see Superhero Run banners at the entrance.  The other entrances will be closed for the race.
 
Weather: The event will go on rain or shine. If severe weather arises, we might have to cancel the event. A final decision will be made on the day of the race.
 
Your Safety: Water stations and a medical team will be available. The following will not be allowed: bikes, skateboards, roller blades, dogs, headsets, and unregistered runners.
 
Timing: Timing for the 5K Race will be provided by the Richmond Road Runner's Club.

    Course Map:  Actual course may vary slightly.
     
    This is a short, fun and very flat course approximately one half of a mile in length.  It is perfect for your younger superheroes.  If you are looking for a more competitive race - please sign your child up for the 5K.

     
    CASA SUPERHERO 5K RACE COURSE DIRECTIONS: 
    • Out and back course ~ 5k (3.09 miles)
    • Follow the Henrico County POLICE car 
    • Start near the pavilion to the right of Main Administration Building
    • Go through south end of campus onto Villa Park Drive and Go RIGHT with traffic
    • Continue on Villa Park Drive to Bank of America
    • Make U-Turn returning on Villa Park Drive North with traffic 
    • Return to St. Joseph’s Villa campus via same road near the south entrance
    • Once on campus -Turn RIGHT and make loop around the Chapel back to the starting line   
    PLEASE STAY ON PAVEMENT AT ALL TIMES SPLIT TIMES AT 1 AND 2 MILES WATER AT 1.5 MILES
     
    Directions to Event: 
    St. Joseph’s Villa (8000 Brook Road, Richmond, VA 23227) is located at the corner of Parham Road and Brook Road in Richmond, Virginia with easy access from Interstate 95.
     
     
    Caution: Enter the campus from Brook Road - use only the main Brook Road entrance where you will
    see the CASA Superhero Run banners.
