CASA Superhero Run - About CASA
CASA Superhero Run - Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes!
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
CASA's mission...

CASA is committed to advocating for the best interests of children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court process. We recruit, train, and supervise competent volunteers dedicated to representing the needs of abused and neglected children, as well as other children in juvenile dependency proceedings. The programs promote safe, permanent homes for all children and seek to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children.
Benefits from CASA...

CASA programs were created to provide a voice in court for every abused and neglected child so they are ensured the opportunity for a safe and permanent home. CASA helps the child in crisis feel a little less alone, understand more about what is happening around them, and know that someone who cares will be there through their entire court experience.  CASA volunteers watch diligently over the child's care so that they do not get lost in the system and are provided needed services to grow up to become healthy, productive adults, able to break the chain of abuse.
Why support CASA?
Our journey began over 20 years ago with the first class completing training and being appointed as child advocates in 1994.  During our last fiscal year, over 499 abused, neglected and abandoned children were served by 164 volunteers donating nearly 17,000 hours to the program.   Since our inception, our CASA programs have served nearly 3,500 children.

Henrico County CASA and Chesterfield-Colonial Heights CASA are 501(c)3, non-profit organizations which operate with the help of grants, corporate gifts and donations from businesses and the community. Fundraising is essential in order to continue providing services to the approximately 500 children and youth that we serve each year.  Without the support of the community, we could not meet our mission of serving all children who are referred for services.
